Heat Pumps
Do you live in an area that doesn’t have access to natural gas? Are you looking for an alternative to oil, propane or wood? Our heat pump options are the perfect solution. Whether you want a geothermal, an air source, or a ductless split, we can find a solution to your needs. The great thing about heat pumps is that they cover both your heating and cooling needs!
Geothermal or ground source heat pumps provide energy efficient option to your heating, cooling and hot water needs by using solar energy that is stored in the ground. This method allows the unit to operate and not emit carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide or harmful green house gases.
Using a loop system to transfer heat to or from the earth the unit then uses refrigerant as the heat or cool transfer medium where it heats or cools the air through a refrigerant-to-air heat exchanger. The unit also produces hot water as a byproduct of both the heating and cooling processes.
Emke Schaab ClimateCare has been a proud WaterFurnace geothermal dealer for over 25 years, so let us solve your heating, cooling and hot water needs with geothermal.
An alternative to geothermal is an air source heat pump (ASHP). Drawing heat from the outside air during heating season and putting heat back into the outside air during cooling season, the ASHP is another energy efficient unit that doesn’t produce harmful gases. Using refrigerant to absorb heat to transfer between the outdoor and indoor units, ASHPs generate heat at a constant temperature of 29-43C. Through ClimateCare, we offer a private label of air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces. Click here to learn more
Having a back up heat system is essential with a heat pump, because as the temperature drops, it becomes more difficult for heat to be pulled from the air. An air handler and electric heat kit is a sufficient heat back up for an ASHP, and are sold as a package when quoted. Geothermal units have built in back up systems.
Like air conditioners, ductless spilt heap pumps are available. These are perfect if you have one room that doesn’t get as warm as the rest of the house, or doesn’t have a heat source. As with ductless air conditioners, it can be used to heat and cool an entire house or just one area depending on your home’s needs.
We have 4 brands of ductless splits available - Carrier, Mitsubishi, Sanyo and Fujitsu. Our office will recommend the units that work best for your situation.
