Soft Water - What is It?
The purest and "softest water" is the vapor found in clouds. Then, falling as rain or snow, water flows over and seeps into the earth, absorbing calcium, magnesium, iron and chloride salts, as it makes its way to our wells and reservoirs. This mineral content is what makes water "hard".
As water flows through a water softener, the calcium and magnesium are removed by an ion exchange process and it is once again as "soft" as its original form.

How Does Reverse Osmosis Work
Reverse Osmosis is the key technology used in commercial bottling facilities. It works through a technique called membrane separetion. Raw water enters the semi-permeable membrane, rejecting and flushing away the impurities. The membrane can reject particles as small as an atom.

Novaclean IF Chemical Free Iron Filter

The Novaclean IF has surpassed all other filters in its ability to remove iron. It uses no costly or messy chemicals. Instead, the system oxidizes iron and collects it in the filter media. Novaclean IF also neutralizes acidic water. Occasionally, the iron is flushed from thefilter using only water.

"Get the iron and sulfur out. . . automatically"
As the water passes through the filter bed, it comes in contact with oxygen-charged manganese greensand. This causes iron, manganese and sulfur to oxidize into particles which can be trapped in the filter bed. Eventually the manganese greensand loses its oxygen charge and regeneration is necessary.

The filter bed is cleaned, then a measured amount of potassium permanganate is drawn from the feeder through the filter bed, recharging it with oxygen. Two rapid rinses ready the bed to filter your water again.
